Moving the scan

Every GTIN resolves. Redirect to your own page or use our hosted identity page. Lot and serial codes fall back gracefully — never a dead link. Aggregate scan analytics included. No cap on products, no cap on scans.

What you pay for

Answering the scan

Reading the date, lot, or serial in the code and doing something with it: date-label explainers, expiry-aware pages, recall scoping, per-value analytics, counterfeit signals. Plus records you choose to store with us.

Rate card

Two things are metered: enhanced products (capability) and records on file (storage). Nothing else. We never charge per scan, per QR code printed, or per recall — and we never negotiate: this table is what everyone pays, at every volume.

That's the whole price list. The graduation printed above is the entire curve — there is no hidden enterprise rate card behind a sales call.

Why register a record at all?

The code in a shopper's hand can only repeat what's printed on the pack — echoing a lot number back at someone holding the carton is worth nothing, so we don't charge for it. A record is where you keep what the code can't say. It does three jobs:

Facts the code can't carry

Most codes are sparse — a lot number and nothing else. Register lot L42 once with its pack date, plant, certificate of analysis, or allergen version, and every lot-only code learns it. Date-aware pages work even when the printed code carries no date at all.

Proof a unit is real

Serial records are your commissioned allowlist. Strict mode treats a serial we've never seen as an unverified unit — and you can't spot a fake without a registry of the genuine.

Compliance memory

FSMA 204 (enforced July 2028) expects your traceability data queryable in 24 hours. Records and EPCIS events on file are that answer — at a dollar per thousand.

Recalls never require records. Scoping a recall to lots you never registered is free, always — type the lot codes and the interstitial is live at full precision on every tier. Records make pages smarter; they are never the price of safety.

Estimate your bill

Drag the catalog size as high as you like — basic products never cost anything. Only enhanced products and stored records move the number.

Example profiles

Basic vs enhanced

The line is simple: does the feature read a value in the code and change what happens? Then it's enhanced. Does it merely move or store the scan? Then it's free. One deliberate exception, below.

What we will never charge you for

Scans

Unlimited on every tier. More consumer engagement should never cost you more. No per-scan fees, ever.

Recalls

Recall execution is free at every tier, at full precision. Safety is a responsibility, not a revenue opportunity.

Printed codes

Generate as many Digital Link codes as you like, however you like. We don't meter your printer.

Dead links

Stop paying and your codes still resolve. A printed barcode outlives a subscription — ours never 404s.

Questions

Because moving a scan from a code to a page costs us almost nothing, and a resolver that only covers the products you're willing to pay for is a resolver full of holes. We'd rather have your entire catalog — and earn revenue when you want the code to actually understand what it's carrying.

No. Resolution always works: a code carrying an unregistered lot or serial resolves to the deepest page we do have, following the hierarchy down from serial to lot to product. Registration adds data — it is never a prerequisite for resolving, and never a prerequisite for a recall. You can scope a recall to three lot codes you've never registered by typing them in.

Everything the code itself can't hold. A lot record carries the lot's facts — pack and expiry dates (so date behaviors work even when your printed code has no date AI), plant and line, certificates, allergen or recipe versions — and gives the lot its own page content. Serial records are your authenticity allowlist: strict mode can only flag an unknown serial because the known ones are on file. And for FSMA 204, "what's on file" is literally what a regulator asks to see. What registration does not buy — because it's already free — is resolution, echoing scanned values, or recall scoping.

No. Composing /01/{gtin}/17/{date} yourself is exactly how the standard is meant to work, and it creates no charge here. You pay when you want us to read that date — to explain it to a shopper, redirect on it, segment analytics by it, or scope a recall to it. Dates are attributes, not identities: there is no such thing as a "date record," and nothing about a date is ever stored per-unit or billed.

No. The posted rate card is what everyone pays, at every volume — the graduation printed above is the whole curve. We'll gladly do procurement paperwork (invoice billing, purchase orders, DPAs, security questionnaires); none of it changes the price. A price you can only learn on a sales call is a price you're not supposed to compare.

A basic scan lands on your page. An enhanced scan knows the carton in the shopper's hand: it can say "this Use By date has passed," explain that "Best if Used By" is about quality rather than safety, route a near-expiry unit to a different page, and — during a recall — tell that shopper whether their specific lot is affected instead of warning about the whole product line.

Yes, and at full precision. The recall check runs before any redirect on every tier. If a recall names lots L1–L3 and the scanned code carries L5, the shopper passes through cleanly; if it carries L2 they get the warning. Charging for accuracy during a recall would monetize a crisis. What Business buys is the tooling to author and refine those scopes — never the consumer's answer.

Free accounts must verify that claimed GTINs fall under a GS1 Company Prefix they license. This is how we keep the free tier from becoming a squatting ground for codes on someone else's shelf.

On what's on file at billing time, not on events. Enhanced products are counted by the toggle you control. Records are counted as rows currently stored. Turn an enhanced product off and the configuration goes dormant — nothing is deleted, and turning it back on restores it exactly.

You drop to Free. Enhanced behavior goes dormant, records beyond the free allowances become read-only, and every one of your codes keeps resolving — including recall warnings. No consumer ever hits a dead link because of your account status.
